Garbage Collection and Lien Requests

The Borough of North Charleroi contracts annually for residential refuse collection.
Currently Bigs Sanitation is the company under contract.
Payments are the responsibility of the property owner.

Bigs sanitation is closed on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
On these days garbage pickup may be delayed.

Collections are received by North Charleroi Borough billed annually in March.
When you move into a property, just put it out and it will be billed to the owner.
Rubbish and Garbage may be placed out for pick up after 5pm on Tuesday for Wednesday pick-up.
Leak proof containers with close-fitting covers must be used for the storage of rubbish and garbage.
Construction dumpsters can be obtained from a waste hauler licensed in the borough.
If you would like to place your dumpster on the street, you must first contact the
Borough Building (724-483-8431)
to verify if the location is acceptable for emergency services.
Any dumpster on the street must have a permit.
Permits are available at the Borough Building/Code Enforcement office.
The cost is $30 a week.
